South Australian Independent Schools Block Grant Authority
Building student success.
The South Australian Independent Schools Block Grant Authority (SAIS BGA) supports schools in developing high-quality and equitable learning environments. SAIS BGA provides funding and advice that strengthen the capacity of schools to plan, design and deliver new or upgraded facilities with assistance from the Australian Government’s Capital Grants Program (CGP).
The SAIS BGA is an approved authority under the Australian Education Act 2013. The Australian Education Act 2013, the Australian Education Regulation, the Guide to the Australian Education Act 2013 and the Capital Grant Program Guidelines 2018, prepared by the Department of Education and Training, determine our operations and responsibilities.
All non-government schools in South Australia are eligible to join and participate in the SAIS BGA to access capital funding opportunities.
The program’s key objective is to provide funding to assist non-government primary and secondary school communities to improve capital infrastructure.
The SAIS BGA Committee
The SAIS BGA Committee is appointed annually by the AISSA Board.
The Committee consists of 10 people, most of whom must broadly represent the interests of Independent school sector in South Australia. At least one member must be a person from outside the school sector.
